The scope of the area that becomes the target of YPCM activities is in Boyolali Regency where there are still many people who do not understand about children and their disabilities, especially children with mental disabilities in education, health, culture, social and economy. Thus, it is important to make efforts to solve these problems.
YPCM has been trusted by the assisted community, the local environment and the local government. So far, the local government expected an equitable distribution of assistance in other areas. This is due to the fact that there are 19 sub-districts and still need special assistance and assistance for children with special needs.
Government trust in YPCM’s presence is supported by the small and medium enterprise development program. In addition, there are also health, education, legal, cooperative business and cultural programs, all of which are collaborations in an attempt to accelerate assistance in the community and in the handling of children with special needs. Until now, YPCM still cares about the best needs of children with disabilities in Boyolali, and is trusted in government programs that focus on children with special needs.
YPCM was established in 1982 as a continuation of the improvement of services both qualitatively and quantitatively. In early stages, YPCM was founded to provide education, care, and maintenance for children with special needs to empower them with skills towards their self sufficiency.
Initially, YPCM cooperated with OXFAM through the Bakti Sejahtera project in the procurement of land which was planned to be constructed as a building for the foundation’s educational activities. This collaboration was carried out from 1984 to 1986. Furthermore, YPCM collaborated with CCF Indonesia from 1985 to 1995 focusing on children’s services in the fields of education, health, and educational supporting infrastructure. The construction and improvement of infrastructure facilities continues to be conducted, such as by establishing cooperation with STIGEHA from 1984 to 1985. In terms of fulfilling the nutrition of children assisted, YPCM has also collaborated with the Dharmais Foundation until 2021. Recently, YPCM established a collaboration with the Liliane Foundation through NLR Indonesia which focuses on fulfilling the rights of children with disabilities, and providing services related to efforts to increase their self-sufficiency.
